WHAT IS THE TEA CUPPER COURSE?

The Tea Cupper Course is an international certification course aimed at tea sommeliers who, for professional development or for pleasure, wish to specialize in tea tasting, developing their sensory perception and expertise.

In this advanced training, the tea sommelier specializes in the training of smell and the other senses with avant-garde techniques of perfumery.

It includes different topics related to tasting, perfumery, neurosciences and sensory sciences. The practice focuses on the sensory analysis and technical tasting of tea, stimulating the senses to discover Camellia sinensis in a detailed and professional way.

The classes are in charge of the Victoria Bisogno, engineer, consultant, tea blender and author of the books “The Alchemy of the tea” and the “Tea Sommelier Handbook”. In addition Victoria has studied fragrances and essences in Grasse, France, the birthplace of perfumers, and is among the best teachers in the world, nominated Best Tea Educator in the WORLD TEA AWARDS 2015 and 2016.

WHAT IS A TEA CUPPER?

A Tea Cupper or Tea Taster is the person who specializes in the sensory analysis of tea and its appreciation. He is an expert who has developed a special sensitivity for the identification of aromas and flavors, and is capable of conducting a professional tea tasting by detecting the subtleties, tea terroir, among other things.

STUDY MATERIALS

Each student receives a set of aromatic descriptors composed by essences to train the smell, for his/her training of the sense of smell, using techniques of perfumers.

Additionally, each student also receives a set of teas to perform exercises both during classes and after the end of the course.
