Victoria Bisogno presents her third book “Tea Cupping: how to use your senses to enjoy tea.” In this book, the author invites readers to lose themselves in the fascinating world of tea through the feelings this beverage generates, being able to enjoy tea with a deep understanding of all its characteristics.

This book is aimed at the professionals of the tea industry so that they can get further knowledge about the product and thus increase their sales. The book is also aimed at tea lovers so that they can learn how to describe tea correctly and enjoy it in all its phases, generating much more than pleasant moments.

“In my previous books, ‘Tea Sommelier Handbook’ and ‘The Alchemy of Tea’, I explain and use the cupping technique. However, in this book, I introduce the basis that led me to create this technique, trying to understand the way in which our body detects, processes, and interprets stimuli, and conducting a more advanced study to take the maximum advantage of our work tools: our senses and our brain,” Victoria said.

The book is divided in three sections. The first section focuses on the sensory analysis of tea and all the technical concepts that are neces- sary to understand this analysis. In this section, you can find: what tea is, what cupping is, how our senses work, the power of the sense of smell and its training for cupping, what sensory analy- sis involves, and how neuroscience impacts this discipline, among others.

In the second section, the author offers a step-by-step guide to learn how to cup: she addresses topics such as the requirements to make a cupping, the preparation of the place and the necessary elements, the types of sensory analysis of tea we can conduct, and how to perform a cupping step by step.

Finally, in the last part of the book, readers will find tools to perform their own cup- pings, examples, glossaries with specific terms, and rounds of aromas with the words used in cupping.
This book is part of the study material of the Tea Cupper course taught by the author.

Currently, the book is available in Spanish.
